Cannot connect to SQL Server

S

SF

Hi,

I am new to vb.net. I start my my test program using VS2005 (VB application)
with one form connect to Product table on SQL Server 2005 server. At home I
have both VS and SQL Server on same machine, and I connect to Product table
through VS wizard. Once I compile and run oon the other machine (with
network connected to SQL Server), my application cannot find the data (SQL
Server).

Could someone advice.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Have a look at your config file in your solution explorere, there you will
see it very clear.

The most effective was is to change that config. You can do it in a way that
you put both in the config and fix it in your program. Mosly is that more
work than intended. The config is just meant to keep that information
outside of the program.

Cor,

Thank you for your input. This mean that everytime, I have to change the
connection string in the config file.

No only when you deploy it, althouth you can as well create some settings in
your config to use other strings in the release then in the debug version
(etc).
