Cannot connect to printer shared on internet

Charles

I have a system with winXP Pro and IIs 5.1 installed, I
have the web service running fine. All the permissions
are set correctly. When I try to access my shared
printer, I get an error message. When I try to browse the
printers on the service, all show up and read ready.
Error message:
An error occurred processing your request.

Error Code: 80070709
Description: Printer not found on server, unable to
connect.
Note: Open Helper

Is this a known issue in Xp?
I've only tried connecting with other machines running XP
Pro, will this work on other clients?

What operating system is the PC with the printer attached running?

Can your XP PC 'see' the files and folders on the PC with the printer
attached?

Is the Guest Account enabled on the PC with the printer attached?

Are the built in firewalls on EACH PC in the network turned OFF.... the XP
Built in Firewall is NOT designed for use on a LAN, only on a standalone PC?

Is the Shared Name of the printer less than 12 characters/numbers with NO
SPACES in it?

On the PC with the printer attached...... under the Properties of the
Printer..... in the Security tab (if present) are the correct permissions
given?

More info needed.... and you should probably post in

microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web since it is probably a network
configuration problem, rather than a printing one. It's not generally a
known problem in networked PCs that are correctly configured.
