Cannot change to install mode

Have TS installed on Windows2000 sevrer with SP4. The TS
was installed in Remote Admin Mode. When i type the
command change user /install, I keep getting a
message "Install mode does not apply to Terminal server
configured for remote administration". I know that the
alternate method to install the program is to use the add
remove programs from the control panel. However, I would
like to run a script, which will install the application
from the command line.

Thanks

As the message says: change user /install cannot be used when you are
in Remote Administration mode.
The change user /install command makes sure that application settings
are shadowed in a special area of the registry and made available for
multiple users when they start a TS session. This functionality does
not work in Remote Administration mode, which is meant to work for
the Administrator only.

You can install your programs directly from the command prompt
(without going into install mode) or from Add/Remove programs, but
you will not have multiple user settings.

Vera,

Thanks! I am logged into the server as Administrator.
Are you saying that even if I am logged in as an
Administrator, the change user /install command will nto
work?

Thanks

Yes.
Remote Administration mode does not support multi-user
functionality (no separate registry area to provide for individual
application settings for multiple users).
It might help to read this article, which explains the shadow area
of the registry and the function of the "change user /install"
command better than I can explain it:
