Cannot change text to proper case using formula

I have used the formula before, but with this spreadsheet I had to use the
"data to text" function to split the whole name to first and last name
columns. Now the proper case formula will not work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you mean
=PROPER(A1)
doesn't work?
What do you have in A1 and what result do you get?

What "data to text" function are you referring to? Do you by any chance mean
the Data/Text To Columns menu item? If so, where is your data at now? When
you say the "proper case formula", do you mean the PROPER function? If so,
where are you using it at. I think you will need to provide us with more
information about your layout, what you have and what you are trying to do
with it (so we have some idea of what you see when you look at your
spreadsheet) before we can offer any reason advice.
