Cannot Boot WIn XP Pro Normally, only in safe mode

When I turn on my computer and it tries to boot normally it only manages to
reach the Win XP logo screen and stays there with the status bar moving back
and forth. I then restart it manually and when i choose to boot in safe mode
it works fine. How can i find out what it has trouble booting?

The very first thing to try as you can boot into safe mode is a
system restore to a point prior to problem first occuring.

If Sister Mary's suggestion does not work then you can
do this:
1. Remove the cable that connects your machine to the Internet.
2. Boot into Safe Mode.
3. Click Start / Run / msconfig {OK}
4. Untick each and every task under the Startup tab.
5. Click the Services tab, then tick the box that lets
you hide all Microsoft services.
6. Untick all remaining services.
7. Click OK.

You should now be able to boot into Normal Mode. Your
challenge will be to restore the various services and tasks
until you find the culprit that prevents your machine from
starting normally.

Do not reconnect your Internet cable until you have restored
your virus protection.

Sorry, but I am still unable to boot in normal mode after I have unchecked
all the start up tasks and unessential services.
