Comment: I also have file sharing problems on my Vista/XP network. One solution (such as yours) is to have the SAME user name and password on BOTH computers! I don't know if this will help or not, but having to do this is ridiculous! My computers are used by 2 different people, with 2 different habits, 2 different lives, etc. We have individual preferences, and to suggest that we rename one to the identity of the other is just plain foolish.

Maybe this works, as I said, but it shouldn't have to. We should be able to share whatever files/folders we want without changing our identities.

I should have stayed with Atari!

Thanks for listening!

Again, thanks for the recommendations. I'll TRY to enable a Guest acct in Vista and see what happens. Of course, I cannot SEE a Guest acct to work with, so I'll have to MAKE one, right? Note: I do have an "Everyone" account -- is that the same as a Guest acct?

Damn, I hate this. Why couldn't we have been given the option for Simple File Sharing (as with XP and ME)? Most simple home users would have benefited.
