The part of the error message that says "Port: 0" almost always indicates
interference from an antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?

Yup. So, what you do is uninstall Norton 360, download and run Norton's
debris removal tool to cleanup all the trash the uninstaller leaves behind,
then do a custom re-install and DO NOT install any email scanning
features/modules/components what so ever. Email scanning is entirely
redundant, it does nothing but create problems where none exist (you now
have first hand evidence of this), and your PC is fully protected from
email-born pathogens without it, provided you keep the resident file system
scanner up to date.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool
