Cannot access the database

lakeboy

On occassion when I open my Outlook, I get this message:

"Business Contact Manager cannot access the database. The database is
currently stopped. Do you want to change the database configuration?"

The result is that I'm unable to view my contacts and notes stored in
Contact manager. In the past, I've closed Outlook and restarted my pc, and
it has loaded it. This time however, I keep getting the same message and am
unable to open Contact Manager.

How do I fix this? I'm not sure where my database is located. I certainly
don't want to mess anything up...my life is in this database.

HELP!

Look at your Window Services. There should a sqlserver service with a
name like MSSMLBIZ. That's the service that manages BCM's database.
Start it if it is stopped, and set it to auto startup if it isn't.
