Cannot access my documents

This is an interesting case. I Replaced the hard drive in my computer
because the old windows installation was out of function an unrepairable
(configsys file was corrupt). I am using the old harddrive as an external
harddrive.

But I cannot access my old My Documents or My Pictures folders stored there.
I have tried to make these files shareable but access is constantly denied
(the old computer was password protected). Does anyone have a solution to
this problem??

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Taking ownership should help:

HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP

Note this one from KB308421:

If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must
start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account
that has Administrative rights to have access to the Security tab.
