Cannot access internet thru slave computer

I have successfully created a home network via crossover cable between my
desktop PC (host), and laptop (slave), and can share files and printer. I
cannot get the laptop to access the internet via the host. I use a BT Voyager
105 USB modem, and my host network connections show my broadband sign on
link, a LAN, and a LAN 3 connection which is the modem. When I create a sign
in on the slave it says "connecting by Wan miniport PPPoe", and then stops
saying that it can't connect. I've set the host/slave set ups to allow
direct/connect through respectively. The only firewall is Zone Alarm on the
host. I assume I need modem divers on the slave. Can anyone save my sanity
and tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to do it right.
Thanks.

I had the same problem. i contacted BT about the problem and i got told that
i CAN NOT make a network connection through theinternet using the BT VOYAGER
105 Modem. However, BT do have a new modem with has both ethernet AND a usb
connection (not wireless connection) for £25.

Sorry that you can't do what you intended.
