can you use a thumbdrive for making the pst or bcm mobile?

I'm using XP home, Outlook, and Business contact manager (updated).

Is there any way to use a thumbdrive so that Outlook uses the database from
the thumbdrive. Trying to make something work for work and home. I don't
need to use outlook's email program from work necessarily, but if I
do....that info must not be copied on my thumbdrive for security reasons. I
do need to keep all my contacts, tasks, calendar private though, ...thus the
desire to use a thumbdrive for that data while at work. Is there a way to
set this up?

I suppose you could, just create a new PST file and locate it on that
thumbdrive. You'll probably want a BIG thumbdrive, by the way.
