I need to change the setting on my taskbar but I can't right click on it at all. I can't even right click to close a window. But I can right click on the desktop or on a webpage. Please help. I don't want confusing answers; I need help. Simple help please. I went to the link that Ramesh MVP gave me( http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm ) I clicked open and then it asked me if I wanted to add this to the registry I clicked yesthen I couldn't even find it. I just want to be able to right click on my taskbar. I can't even get in any REGISTRY on my comp.

This is my original question

generally for starters... enter settings/taskbar start
menu. ensure that taskbar is unlocked and quick launch is
showing. from there anything that you want to remove,
right click and delete. to add, drag application icon from
it's location into the bar to create shortcut. you can
right click and rename if you wish to remove "shortcut"
from name. This all goes the same for the start menu as
well..

Scroll down to line 164 (see the numbers on the left).
Look for
Restore Taskbar to default functionability

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard
disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import
prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right
clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to
your hard drive (you may want to right click and use Save
Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script
is done.

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of
a "malicious" script, this is normal if you have "Script

not malicious, but they do make changes to the System

I appreciate your frustration in not understanding what the replies to your post mean but you must also understand the frustration that we have in reading and trying to respond to your post. The task bar is the bar at the bottom of your window and is between the Start button on the left and the "system tray" on the right. The system tray will display open and running programs and is the area that contains your clock. What we need to know is if this is the area where the program shows up that you would like deleted or if you have a quick launch toolbar enabled which will show up just to the right of your start button. Adding and removing programs is entirely different from the two locations. Please post back and would you please also tell us what program you want deleted and what one you want added as often these type of settings are enabled in the programs configuration setup and we may know where you have to go to turn it on or off. {:~)
