Can XPE boot from USB

Hello,

Can I boot XPE from USB port use a USB reader with 1G CF or USB to IDE
HD(30GB)??? The Computer does support boot from USB, I can boot Win98 DOS.

Yes. Try searching this newsgroup with google groups there is lots of
information about booting to USB.

Thank you all!! I checked the web site, looks like it's not easy, I'll try
it.

Does anybody successfully run XPE from USB drive? How big is the image
size?? My current image is about 1G for regular HD, is it too big?

Hi XPEnew,

I build a XPE SP1 image with 97 MB with nearly full XPPro functionality on
a Buffalo
USB stick with 32MByte/s.
No harddisk is connected.
Let FBA run on the USB stick.

After FBA, the boottime of this image to desktop is 10 seconds. It runs
also on CF flash.

page I give you, your USB boot
will be perfect for any clone of XP.
