Can Windows XP store a different username for each of the Samba shares on a UNIX machine?

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I used Google to search
this newsgroup and I was unable to find exactly what I am after:

We have Windows XP PCs in our office accessing a Solaris machine with Samba
and each of its Samba shares has a different username/password combination.

All the PCs are in the same workgroup (i.e. the PCs are not in a domain) and
also plain passwords are used to access the Solaris machine (BTW the use of
plain passwords results in Windows XP's Stored User Names and Passwords not
storing the password but we can live with that).

In Windows XP's Stored User Names and Passwords on my PC I am able to create
an entry for the Solaris machine which will provide a username in the login
window (i.e. it doesn't default to Guest) when I issue the run
\\<machine>\share command provided only the machine's name is stored in the
Server part of Stored User Names and Passwords (BTW I know I can map a
network drive to get around this problem).

Unfortunately this results in the same username always being used despite
trying to connect to other shares on our Solaris machine.

Searching the Web I found a page which said that \\<machine>\share could be
stored in the Server part of Stored User Names and Passwords entry which
should then allow a different username to be stored for each share on our
UNIX machine.

However, when I tried this out on my PC it did not work and the login window
defaulted again to Guest!

Does anyone know if what I am trying to do is possible in Windows XP's
Stored User Names and Passwords?

Thanks
