Can we have a slideshow version _and_ print version present in same file, somehow?

I hope I can describe the problem. I recvd a great PowerPoint ppt file.
But it was geared primarily for a slideshow format. I edited it a bit for
printing and would like to do more but the printout doesn't need the
background colour like the slideshow does whereas the slideshow doesn't have
pages numbers, etc., etc.

I've never seen this before but was wondering if there was another "view"
for a presentation that is the "printer-friendly" view where we can add page
numbers and take out elements that aren't needed in the printout.

Thanks.

I don't think you'll find exactly what you want, but you can try a couple
of things:

(1) When you print, try changing the Color/Grayscale setting to Black and
White.

(2) If you are printing handouts, rather than slides that take up the
whole sheet of paper, you can go to the View menu, choose Master and
Handout Master to add page numbers and some other things to handouts.

Yeah, I didn't think it would be possible to have the two things co-existing
in the same slideshow, a "slideshow view" and a "printer-friendly view"
<lol>. Still, it was worth a chance in asking.

I'll definitely try your suggestions below. You're right re the greyscale
and that's a trick I know myself, but I was trying to make a ppt file that I
can share with fellow participants who probably don't have my experience
with PPT as I'm an office clerk and have actually worked in it.

Thanks! :blush:D
