Can Tweakui be used in UK?

The above site says:

"Important Notes
You must uninstall your old PowerToys before installing the new ones.
PowerToys will only work with US-English regional settings."

I'm surprised!
Why not UK-English?
Would I have to change from UK to US to use Tweakui?
(It wouldn't be worth it.)
But I've never come across this before.
Is it actually true?
I don't suppose Microsoft would say it if it weren't
but it really does seem surprising!
What happens if you *do* use it with UK settings?
Does your system explode?

It's perfectly safe to use it.
What happens if you do use it you ask. Well, how else do you explain the
current plot-line in Eastenders?
(I don't watch it (everyone says that) but I read the reviews).

But in that case why would Microsoft warn against it?
There may well be a reason - or there may not.
The warning is clear and explicit:
"PowerToys will only work with US-English regional settings."
Perhaps someone from Microsoft would comment?

Yes, you are just going to have to live with that plot
line, I'm afraid.
So, was the tweakui worth it?

You can use it on a UK copy of Windows - it is just that they do not
test on anything but US. AFAIK the version of Windows sold in the UK is
the same as the US one anyway

More accurately, it should read "PowerToys were designed for systems with
US-English regional settings."

This is tweakui's author. Making a very rare appearance in the NGs.

You have been honoured.

Thanks Chen. Is it true that you are the author of Tweakui?
If so, then I'm indeed honoured by your prompt reply.
Do you think it would be possible to change the wording
on the Microsoft site? (if only as a sop to people who tend to believe
what is written on a Microsoft technical website!)

I don't control the text that goes on the web page, and I'd rather not raise
hopes only to have people disappointed if it turns out there's a problem.
