Can Telnet to router but not browse

I have a network problem as follows

My wireless laptop works fine

My wired desktop does the following

1) ping bbc.co.uk relpied fine
2) ping router replies fine
3) telnet router connects fine
3) Browse to any page including the router - Page not found

Windows firewall is off,
This has worked fine until recently.

I have tried both static and Dynamic IP, also have checked the IP
settings, Gateway and DNS against the laptop.

Any help appreciated

On each computer, open a command prompt and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Compare the settings between the two computers, especially any DNS servers
listed. The non-working computer likely has incorrect DNS settings.
