can send but not recieve emails

I am having a problem with Outlook 2003. I can connect to the Exchange
server but when trying to update folders it hangs. When I hit the send
recieve button it completes the first step of but then when trying to recieve
it hangs and eventualy closes the send recieve window with no error message.
Anyone got any Ideas?

Do you use cache mode on your account?

Try to run OST integrity check tool.

then try to disable cache mode.

If you are the Exchange administrator, try run

ISINTEG (be sure you have a recent backup).

If you are not the Exchange Administrator, ask your network administrator.
