Can receive but not send emails

I am able to receive emails but not send emails. There is no error message
coming up- the messages just remain in my outbox. Please help!

Thanks- I've downloaded the suggested software and I managed to delete 2 of
the messages that were stuck in my outbox but when trying to send new
messages they're getting stuck also. Is it possible one of my settings is
incorrect?

That problem can be caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

You might want to check the spelling of your outgoing mail server account.
This was my problem for some reason? On windows mail click on the Tools tab,
then Accounts, click on Properties, then the Server Tab. Found my outgoing
mail server was missing a letter. Don't know how it happened but once I
corrected it everything worked and is working just fine!
