Can no longer share files

Last night, My new laptop finally arrived with windows vista. When it got
here, I started it up and connected to my network. I was able to connect to
my XP machines, share folders and even transferred some large files over the
wireless network.
This afternoon when i started my laptop up again, I was no longer able to do
this. My laptop didnt recognze any of the XP machines on the network. I
changed the workgroup name on the vista machine to match the XP's (MSHOME). I
then dl'd and installed the LLTD file from microsoft onto the XP machine I
need most. When i look at the network map, I select "View all" and it DOES
show the XP machine on the network map, but I am not able to right click on
it to connect.
From the XP side, I can SEE the Vista laptop but when I try to connect it
says that the resource is not found or I may not have permission.
File and Printer sharing are enabled on both machines, neither are running
windows firewall (turned off) and I am able to ping one machine from the
other through cmd.
This is weird, cause like I said, I was able to share files right out of the
box, but I cant anymore.

Any Thoughts?

On the Vista notebook, Network and Sharing Center is
network discovery: on
file sharing: on
public folder sharing: on
password protected sharing off?

And, turn the firewall on on your machines and install good AV software.
