can no longer drag and drop messages between folders

HELP!!! All of a sudden, I am no longer able to drag and drop messages
between
folders. I am using Outlook 2003. Windows XP Professional operating system.

Hi Kay,

Do you get this problem only in the email folders?

If yes, please try at first a repair of the PST file with scanpst:

"How to repair Outlook folders using the Inbox Repair Tool"

What is the size of your PST file?

Maybe your PST file reached the limit. Have a look on this workflow for "How
to reduce the size of your PST file?" if the size is the problem.

What happens when you try?
Clear your Deleted Items folder and try again.

Before, I would click on an item in my inbox and drag it to a different mail
folder; I can still move a message if I right click and choose to move it -
but dragging and dropping was so much more convenient. I have emptied my
deleted items folder, but I still can't drag & drop.

I did run the "Inbox Repair Tool" and it showed that no files were damaged.

This is just bugging me!!

What happens when you try?
Clear your Deleted Items folder and try again.

Out of habit, I just tried to drag & drop a new message and it work!!!
Evidently, "whatever" fixed itself!!

Before, I would click on an item in my inbox and drag it to a different mail
folder; I can still move a message if I right click and choose to move it -
