Can no longer burn multi session disks

Hi,

I can no longer burn multi session disks. The first session burns OK
but the second sessions fails with "The disk is not writeable..."
(Nero). Also tried Win XP's built in writer with same result. Just
updated BIOS to JS0D.

I tried to write a second session to the disk on another PC which
worked. I have Win XP pro installed and a Liteon SOHW-1673S writer
which
is updated with latest firmware JS0D.

Your help is much appreciated.

Try with a different burner. If you don't experience any problems with
the test burner, replace the original drive.

Hi, thanks for the help. I have a dual boot system so I booted into my
other Windows setup and the dual burn session using Windows built in
writing worked. It must be some sort of windows driver problem as I
only updated the bios to try and fix my problem.

It would have been nice to have known that in your first post. I've
never heard of updating a BIOS to fix a problem with an optical drive.
The only thing I can suggest is that you uninstall all third-party
burning software and reinstall (in the Windows setup where you are
having difficulties, naturally). Maybe you have something installed in
the troubled XP that is conflicting with your burning software. Here
are some links to help troubleshoot burning issues:

I have fixed the problem by reinstalling Alcohol. I don't know what was
the cause but I am relieved it is not my burner. Thanks for all the
help.
