Can MSAS be installed without an internet connection?

I've loaded MSAS onto my computer. My son needs to load it into his computer
-- but his computeris so riddled with ad/spyware (he's a teenager so it goes
with the territory) that his computer won't function when hooked to the
Internet. In fact, I think it only really functions in safe mode. But on to
the the question: Can I copy MSAS program from my computer so he can load it
onto his and clean it out? He's running Windows 2000 Service Pack 2.

Oh, and there's not much depth to our computer repair skills. Thanks.

Hi Sigrid,

You can start downloading the following from your PC and instal in your
sons PC and run a thorough scan in safe mºde:

NOTE: Make certain to update every app before booting into Safe Mode since
you WILL NOT have access to the Internet from Safe Mºde.

Ad-Aware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Spybot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org/

Make certain to not to select any of the pernament protection for Spybot and
DO NOT immunize the system, as this can interfere with WD' Real-tme
Protectiºn.

CWShredder - http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html

SpywareBlaster - www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html
JavaCool's free SpywareBlaster automatically adds a lengthy list of
dangerous addresses to IE's Restricted sites. SpywareBlaster is compatible
with AOL's browser; it also works with current versions of the Netscape,
Firefox, and Mozilla browsers. Its most recent iteration is SpywareBlaster
3.4.

Also check windows updates for your OS to make sure you have the latest
security patches and service packs instªlled :

I hope this post is helpful, let us know how it works ºut.

I'm sorry, I must be dense. All the links you posted are for OTHER spyware.
My questions was if I can copy the MSAS program (specifically) off my
computer to install on my son's computer since his can't go on the Internet.

Is there some reason I'm being directed to OTHER spyware sites and products?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sigrid,

The reason of the others programs, is because you have to clean up the PC
before you try tu install MSAS.

MSAS don't install in safe mode.

MSAS is a beta product, but you can try any other way, so welcome to the
testers field.

Oh, dear. Thanks.

Maybe it would be easier to reformat. At this point there is nothing of
value on the computer. (Sigh)

Yes, you can do this without the Internet connection, but I'm not sure how
successful you will be.

You can't install in safe mode, but no Internet connection is necessary.

You may want to update the definitions on your own system, and then copy all
the .GCD files from \program files\microsoft antispyware from your system to
his, to get the definitions right.

I'm assuming you have a working network between the two machines.
