yes. It depends on where you published this calendar, which pertinent piece
of information you decided not to tell us...

Hi,

I have not published my calender yet. Want to know if it is possible before
publishing. I was thinking if my PC crashes, I can still retrieve the
calender from the internet. Another reason: I can get access to it using
other computer somewhere else. Pls advise. Thanks

if you use outlook 2007 and publish to office online you can set it so only
you or those you send the url to can view it. However, its not a good
solution for a backup - for that, make a copy of the pst. Use it for
sharing or viweing online only.

other options include the gmail and live (hotmail) calendar services. Both
have the ability to keep the calendar private and IMHO, would be better for
backup (along with easier to access than office online's calendar).

That's not a good backup scheme. Simply make a copy of your PST and store it
on an flash drive or CD. That will make it easy to restore. Make this backup
weekly, daily, monthly, or at whatever frequency you think is best for the
changes you make.

you should still keep a copy of the pst - just in case the sync process goes
wrong and eats your appointments.

Hi,

1) Pls advise what is 'pst'. I'm not very good at computer and its tecnical

2) To keep/save a copy of my calender with tasks, I should go to

Hi,

Thank you for your advice too! I've just replied to Diane and seek advice as
follows:

1) What does PST meant?
2) To backup or save a copy of my window with tasks, I should click on
File>Export>'to designated location I want'. Is this correct? Thanks.

D

Diane Poremsky [MVP]

pst is the file extension of the file that holds your mail, calendar,
contacts, tasks, and outlook notes.

Yes, file, export, export to a file, select persona folder file (pst) and
select the folder. if it doesn't offer you’re my documents folder as the
location, browse to it then create the pst to make it easier to find later.

I'm using Windows Calendar that is found in the Windows Mail. I'm not using
Outlook. So, am I right to say that:
1) I can save/backup my Calender with tasks in ics forma.
2) And each time I save/backup, I just override the previous file.
3) I just need to IMPORT the file back to Windows Mails in case of any
crashes or problems.

Many thanks.

Hi,

I have not published my calender yet. Want to know if it is
possible
before
publishing. I was thinking if my PC crashes, I can still
retrieve
the
calender from the internet. Another reason: I can get access
to
it
using
other computer somewhere else. Pls advise. Thanks

:

Hi,

Can I stop others from viewing my calender after I
published
in
the
internet? I do not want my tasks to be viewed by others
except
me.
Pls
advise. Thanks!

yes. It depends on where you published this calendar, which
pertinent
piece
of information you decided not to tell us...

Thanks, this is what I do: File>Export>

In Outlook, there is no File>Export. The menu is File>Import and Export. If
you see File>Export, then you're not using Outlook and you're asking in the
wrong newsgroup. You are using Windows Calendar, whihc has nothing to do with
Outlook. You've been directed toi the correct newsgroup already.
