I have many large ppt files and would like to search some of them for
specific text. Is this possible? Thank you in advance for any help or
suggestions.

Click Edit > Find or Ctrl-F on your keyboard will bring up the search dialog.

Hi

In addition to what tohlz said, you can search across multiple files at once
to find out which contain the key phrase:
1. In windows explorer right click on the folder or drive that contains the
presentations and select 'search...'
2. In the 'All or part of the file name' box put *.ppt (you will need to
redo the search with *.pps if you have some of those)
3. In the 'a word or phrase on the file' box type your specific text
4. Click 'search'
5. Go and make a cup of tea (the search will take a while!)

I use XP - if you use something different or can't see the boxes press F1
while you have the search dialogue box open. Hope that helps
