can I move the hibernation file?

I use Acronis True Image to perform online image backups of my XP Pro SP@
system drive. I also use hibernation to power off my system rather than
shutting it off.

Since I have 1 GB of system RAM, the presence of hiberfil.sys in my system
partition is causing my backup file sizes to explode. Since True Image
backups aren't file based, I can't exclude this file. I know I can disable
hibernation in the power options, delete the file, then back up, but I was
hoping for something more elegant.

Is there any way to move hiberfil.sys? The MS knowledge base always refers
to it being in the system partition. The only reference I found to it in
the registry is in the list of files for NT Backup (or whatever it's called
now) to ignore.

Are you running the latest version of True Image? I have no idea why
True Image would force you to backup hiberfil.sys. Image for Windows
( http://terabyteunlimited.com ) does not include that file in the
images it creates, because there is no reason to, and as you point out,
it can be incredibly wasteful.
