Can I include default text in the Subject Line of an email?

I would like to set up my Outlook email so that everytime I click on "New", the new email page opens with the name of my company already typed in the Subject Line.

The problem is that sometimes an email is sent from my office and, if the recepient doesn't recognize the senders name, or if the subject text isn't well phrased, it can be taken for spam and deleted.

So, if "John Doe Enterprises Inc.:" was already in the subject line every time a new email was started, this problem would be solved.

If the sender is sending a personal email, they can always delete this text. The point is to make it default.

Can I do this with Outlook 2002?

Thanks.

D.

You can create a template for this. Create a new mail and edit it to your
likings. Save the template as an oft-file to a location (could be anywhere).
When you create a new message use that specific template. You can also
create a button for that template (to replace your original one) by using
View-> Toolbars-> Customize. Drag a new icon to the Toolbar and rightclick
it and choose to assign a hyperlink to it. Let this link point to the
template.

Roady,

Getting back to you a bit late.................

Thanks for your help.

There is a slightly easier way............

1. Click on New Mail in Outlook.

2. Type appropriate text in Subject Line.

3. Save it to, say, Documents as a Outlook Template (from the drop down menu in the Save window). Also useful to name it something like Office Email or whatever.

4. Close new mail window.

5. Open Documents and drag the saved template icon to the Outlook Shortcuts menu. I put mine at the top.

Now if you click on it, an new email page opens with the text in the Subject Line.

That's it!

That is also a way. I actually created a separate menu for this in the
Toolbar. This way the menu is always shown and don't have to switch to the
Shortcuts pane (which I don't use).

Thankfully you can do it in several ways so everybody can create a way that
he/she thinks that works for him/her ;-)

Good to hear you've got things working!
