can I enter data manually to an Access Report

I wish to manually enter a date, each time I generate a particular report.
The date is not related to any date currently stored in the tables.

I have added an unbnound box with [Date] as source, and am asked to input
the date when I start the report, but the position on the report is blank.

I just tested the exact same thing and the date I entered displayed just fine
for me. Try =[Enter the date] just in case Access is getting confused as "Date"
is a reserved word.
