Can I delete a folder in XP

Hi

I've noticed that two folders have suddenly appeared alongside the My
Documents folder on my data drive. I didn't create them and I don't know
where they came from. They don't have names but instead a long string of
letters & numbers. Inside each folder is a text document log file of some
sort. The title of the log file is also very long and includes a microsoft
Knowledge Base article number.

I'm curious to know how they got there but also would like to know if I can
delete them.

Thanks

They were put there by those MS Updates. You can delete the folders.

Where is the path of that Text File is it in:
C:\3b16041babld5e6831c0a4ef

There are no harm from this folder, what you see is the text installation
log for the
installation of the latest security for MSXML4.0.
You can safely delete this folder only this not the folder for MSXML4.0
C:\3b16041bab1d5e6831c0a4ef delete this I think about 285 KB or more I can't
remember but I did delete from my machine.
HTH.

They might be temp files from MS office, if they have a tilda, or maybe they
are memory dumps from a crashed program.

Hi
Yes that is where the folder is. It's not the programme folder so I've taken
Malke's advice and deleted it. Thanks for helping

Hi

It looks like they were created by Microsoft. I've deleted them and, so far,
they sky hasn't fallen in! Thanks for your help
