Can I create a text on the left or right like a header & footer

I'm trying to create a 10 x 10 (100 squares) for my Superbowl pool. One team
goes on the left side, while the other goes on the top. I need to create the
text for these.

Since this is designed just for printing, I will suggest "merged cells"

Select B1:K1 and Format>Cells>Alignment>Horizontal>Center across selection.

Enter Colts.

Select A2:A11 and Format>Cells>Alignment>Merge Cells.

Enter Chicago.

Format>Cells>Alignment>Orientation>Text

Resize rows and columns to suit.
