Can I create a calendar?

I am the coordinator for a Senior Center transportation service for elders in
my community. I have gradually been developing an Access database to manage
aspects of the service. One of the main tables is one in which requests for
rides are entered and then managed over time. There are a bunch of "regular"
rides that go into this table - for example, one of our volunteers gets a
ride to the center every MWF morning and a ride home in the afternoon. Every
month I use an append query to put these regular rides into the main table
for the month. It would be helpful if I knew how to create a calendar in
Access that would automatically identify the day of the week for any date.
Ideas?
