Can I check mail while Outlook is minimized in the task bar?

I have Outlook 2003 minimized in my task bar, and use it for my Gmail. I have
a Gmail Notifier that tells me when I get mail in my Gmail Inbox..and to see
it I normally maximize Outlook and click on "Send/Receive".

Is there an add-in that will allow me to check mail right away by
right-clicking on the Outlook icon in the task bar and choosing the option
"Check Mail Now"?

Sending and Receiving is a setting under Tools-->Options-->Mail Setup tab,
Send/Receive button. Set Outlook to send/receive every XX minutes.
