Can I change COA number on XP after installation?

I have installed XP home on a second PC but afterwards discovered that I
keyed in the COA number that I've already used on my first PC. I assume I
will have issues when I try to activate XP on my 2nd PC as the COA is already
registered with Microsoft.
Can I somehow get into the OS on my second PC to enter the proper COA from
my second version of XP?
Help appreciated!

As long as it is the same variant of XP (home/Pro; Upgrade/Full;
Retail/OEM) then go to
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
and start out on Activate by Phone. There is a screen where you can
change the Key; use it, accept then cancel out. get on the Net and
start over to activate on the Net
