Can Hotfixes Cause Wireless Network problems

I have a Linksys WRT54G Wirelss G router and a WPC54G
Wireless G Notebook adapter. I've been trying to get them
to work for 2 weeks. I've had several conversations with
Linksys techs. Today one told me that Hotfixes download
for Windows XP can interrupt wireless operations. Is that
true? If so, what Hotfix could be causing the issue?

That sounds like "buck passing" to me. I administered an MS based wireless
network and when I did need tech support MS came through with a fix each
time and no finger pointing. Moreover the Linksys "techs" should already be
aware if an MS hotfix has broken their hardware/firmware/software.

It sounds to me like they are out of answers and want to dump their problems
back on you.

Perhaps if you described the exact problem and your configuration it
would help. Include what firmware rev you have in the Linksys router
(make sure you have the current firmware release) and which drivers
you are using for the notebook card.
