Hello, I have a samsung cd-rom drive, (windows XP Pro)
when I insert a cd-rw or cd-r disc and double click on
the cd drive in "my computer" the hourglass comes up but
than nothing happens, if I click on "explore" it opens a
desktop window that lists (my computer,c drive,d drive
etc.), if I click on "autoplay" and than click on "open
folder to show files" nothing happens, if I click
on "auto play" and than "view a slideshow of the images"
it will read the cd and show the images on the disc. Pre-
recorded cd's work fine. Any ideas?? Thanks

From your description it sounds like the person who
copied the CD for you has not closed the session on the
CD. This process writes the address track and allows any
CD machine to read the data. If it is not done then the
only CD that will read it is the one that wrote the
information initially

hope this helps
