Can Anyone Help ?

Hi Group,

I hope someone can help.

I attempted to move an AVI file from my hard drive to a
CDR-W to free up space on my hard drive.

I received an error message saying there was not enough
room on the drive to complete this process and telling me
to free up some space and attempt again, which I did by
deleting some other files. However, it seems that part
of the AVI file copied to the "you have files ready to be
copied to a CD" area.

Here's the problem: That file is now stuck in limbo.
I've tried burning it to the CD and that doesn't work,
so. I tried deleting the temporary file and it says the
file is being used by another program. Out of
desperation, I deleting the original file from my
hardrive, but, despite having emptied the recycle bin,
rebooting, deleting all temp files, etc., that partial
AVI file still remains in the "you have files ready to be
written to the CD" area and I can't get rid of it.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Mark

Hey,

I found that normally that there is an option to "clear burnt items" from the window. Can u not see anything like that in ur case?

I believe you are referring to the "delete temporary
file" function, but, when I attempt, I get an error
message saying "thi file is in use by another
program..........", but, infact, no other programs are
running.

Can you delete it in Safe Mode?

Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately, it did not
work. In safe mode, I cannot find the file. I'm not
sure, but, perhaps that is because the CD Burn function
is not avaible in Safe Mode ?????????

Having this file stuck in limbo is also preventing me
from burning ANY CD's as it is in the "Files to Be
Copies" are and I repeatedly get the error message
stating that the file is in use or being used by another
person.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark
