Can a "blog" be added as part of an existing FrontPage website.

Yes. You have to find one (try Google) and follow the instructions for that
Blog to add it to your web site.

Kevin,

Just out of curiosity, I have a blogger.com site, and my own domain. What
would be the advantage of publishing it to my own domain? I have a pretty
good host, but shared server is a different hosting package. So using FP's
blog feature isn't an option. And right now I'm experimenting with some ASP
blog's.

Bottom line, I'd like to have a blog on one of my pages in my website.

Thanks,
Steve Banks

There can be an SEO advantage... put the blog in a subdirectory or
subdomain... links back to the main site and vice versa... fresh content
for spider bait... more pages for the SE index...

Yes there's a web blog in built in FP, but it requires Sharepoint on a
Windows Server.

Otherwise try a site like www.hotscripts.com and search for a Web log (Blog)
script.

Thank you Dave, in SEO I take it to mean Search Engine Optimization?

Thanks again,
Steve Banks

Thank you Andrew, the Hotscripts site is chock-full of info. Take a while to
go through...

Hello All:

As I digest these ASP scripts for Blogs... I have to ask this gnawing
question.

Is there a way or any software (blogging) that in essence would allow a
person to insert a blog into an existing FP web page? In other words,
instead of a standalone web page for the blog, it would be a large cell in a
wepage?

Here's my reasoning behind this. If I hosted a blog on my domain, it would
be a separate page. At that point folks would just go to the blog page
always circumventing the static web site. Where as if you could keep your
current home page with just a window at the top of the page that contained
the blog, you're serving two purposes.

Or is this just a stupid concept?

Thanks,
Steve Banks

You should be able create a page within your web for the blog with the same look and feel of your
site, but the page would have to have the file extensions required for the server-side script being
used. This all depends on how the script was written, but in most case people will be able to
bookmark any page in your site and then return directly to the page. If you load it in frameset,
then you might loose the search engine benefits, if that is of concern.

Thanks Thomas, I've tried one ASP blog and am about to experiment with
another that looks and feels simpler.
Knowing it CAN be done is half the battle!

I know....I frequent that site myself and there's loads of useful stuff
there. It is rare that I can't find what I'm after on that site.
