Calling a Contact using VOIP

My office has a VOIP phone system (non cisco). Is there a way that I can
call a contact off of my contacts list using our VOIP system?

Everything I have read up to this point indicates that I have to use a
regular phone line (modem). Is this true. I have searched, but I can't find
anything that will allow me to call out using our VOIP system.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Not an Outlook question. Outlook is not a dialer. Outlook uses the default
dialer for the OS, none of which support VOIP to my knowledge. You can ask
in an OS group.
