Calendar in Archive Folders

Alina

I am used to using the the regular yellow calendar on Outlook - with the
click of a button. One day I dont know what happened but whenever I click
"Calendar" now, I get a green task plane which apparently is a "Calendar in
Archive Folders." I believe this is the default now and its difficult for me
to locate the general yellow calendar (on the left there are two options
under my calendar: calendar and calendar in archive folders. and you have to
do two clicks to get into my regular yellow calendar). I would like to get
rid of this green calendar in archive folders - and just have one calendar
like I had before.
How can I do this?

Mirosoft Outlook 2003.

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next. At the lower left, what do you see in the
"Delivery new e-mail to the following location" drop-down?

I clicked Tools, Email Acconts, Next. I do not see anywhere the “delivery new
email to the following location†line. (I even tried different things, such
as under “email accountsâ€, I chose each of the four options before clicking
“nextâ€).

Explicitly, it's Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing e-mail
accounts>Next. You'll see a dialogue containing the names of youre accounts,
buttons down the right side labeled "Change", "Add", "Remove", "Set as
Default", "Move Up", and "Move Down". Below the account list you'll see
"Deliver new e-mail to the following location" with a drop-down below it and
to the right of that, a button labaled "New Outlook Data File". Finally, at
the bottom right are buttons labeled "Back", "Finish", and "Cancel". If you
don't see what I describe, then you're not using Outlook 2003 as you claim.

Yes - I followed exactly what's written and I do see the above - I do have
Microsoft 2003.

The way I originally figured out that its 2003 is by going into "Help",
"About Microsoft Outlook"

I hope I can get rid of this green "Calendar in Archive Folders" because it
is very difficult to ues my original yellow calendar when this green archive
continues to pop-up upon selecting "calendar"

Tell me exactly what you see then you click what I said. Where does what you
see differ from what I described?

I am sorry for the trouble. I now understand. Under the
"Delivery new e-mail to the following location" drop-down, I see it as set
to “personal folders.†Next to it there is a button entitled "New Outlook
Data File."

Personal Folders and Archive Folders are the two options.

If youre Personal Folders are selected as the delivery location and you also
have and Archive PST in your mail profile, then clicking the Calendar button
at the bottom of your Navigation Pane should show you a "My Calendars" section
with two enteries: one "Calendar" and one "Calendar in Archive". Both should
have check boxes with the "Calendar" entry normally checked and the "Calendar
in Archive" normally not checked. You can uncheck "Calendar in Archive" and
check "Calendar, then close Outlook. Outlook should remember your setting
when next it starts. If it doesn't try starting outlook once with the
/resetnavpane command switch.

Yes, I have Personal Folders selected as the delivery location there, and
whenever I click on the Calendar button at the bottom of the Navigation Pane,
I see a "My Calendars" section with two enteries: one "Calendar" and one
"Calendar in Archive". (there are no checkbox's next to them). In order to
open up a page that will have them box with checkboxes next to them, I have
to first clieck "Calendar in Archive Folders" which changes the page, and
then I can mark and unmark the boxes two times to finally get to my yellow
regular calendar.
However, when I close outlook, it does not automatically retun to this last
page. I have to repeat the above described procedure every time. You
mentioned starting outlook once with the /resetnavpane command switch. Can
you please explain what that is so I can do that - perhaps that will sole my
problem and I will never see the green archive calendar option/page again.

See Help>Command line, expand Command Line Switches and read how to use
/resetnavpane.

While having Outlook open, I went ahead and did Start, Run, under Open I
wrote:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /resetnavpane

and clicked open and supposedly it goes through but when I close Outlook and
then open it up again, no changes are made. I very much apprecaite your
assistance and would like to know what other way exists to solve this problem.

Outlook should be closed when you use a command switch.

I went ahead and did the command switch while Outlook was closed (having
opened Outlook before to put it on the yellow calendar page - perhaps it will
save it?), upon which the program/Outlook opens up automatically - however, I
do not see any changes. Nothing has changed. I am unclear what is supposed to
happen - what this command switch is supposed to do and how I can maintain a
regular yellow calendar page (and never see the green archive calendar) each
and every time i open Outlook.

If you haven't already, try a new mail profile.
