Calendar causing Outlook to 'not responding'

I am experiencing an issue with the Calendar in Outlook. When I click on
Calendar or try to add an appointment, Outlook stops responding and I must
force it to close. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it without success.
I have recently created a new data file in 2007 to make use of the large
capacity for pst files.
