Calendar and Task Reminders Vanish when starting Outlook 2007

A couple of weeks ago I had an issue where duplicate core folders were
created when I setup a new Outlook 2003/Cached Mode profile over a VPN
connection. I was able to address that by deleting duplicates but I also
needed to use the /resetfolders and /cleanreminders flag to get Outlook to
work properly (from any machine) when opening a new message, calendar item,
etc.

Since then, however, I've noticed this strange behavior: If I start
Outlook 2007/Non-cache mode- even with a brand new profile - any existing
calendar or task reminders are reset. This is not happening with Outlook
2003. In other words:

Start Outlook 2003 (from any machine, cache mode or not), and (for example)
I have 5 reminders on the screen
Start Outlook 2007, and the reminders are all cleared and disappear

I can start multiple copies of Outlook 2003 but this doesn't occur.

I want to start using Outlook 2007 but need to square this away... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Bill

There are known issues when accessing the same mailbox using Outlook 2003 and 2007. 2007 adds a different method for indexing Outlook files that causes Outlook 2003 to hurl. Stop accessing the mailbox from 2 different versions, repair the one you want to use (presumably Outlook 2007) and stick to that version.

Milly,
Thank you for the response-- can you provide some detail/KB Articles? We're
considering a migration to Office 2007 (or at least Outlook 2007 by itself),
and this would pose a major problem with respect to floating staff people and
remote access.

There are examples of problems documented in the MSKB - a quick query using "outlook 2003 outlook 2007 same mailbox" will get you myriad hits.
