Calculating Days in a quarter

If you will: I have a billing sheet that we use for quarterly billing; some
accounts are billed for a full quarter and some for partial, depending on
date of account inception. Does anyone have a suggestion for a formula that
will look at the account inception date and calculate the number of days that
should be billed (using an end date that, for sake of expedience) we will
input into the sheet every quarter. The formula should be inclusive of the
inception date but not inclusive of the billing date.

Thanks--I know this is a newbie question--I need some guidance from someone
more experienced to ensure I get this right.

Are we supposed to guess what program you are using?
