calculate time on time record

I'm creating a time record using Excel 2003 and need to know how to calculate
to get the correct total worked for the day:

IN A.M. OUT LUNCH IN LUNCH OUT P.M. TOTAL
9:00 1:00 2:00 5:00 7:00

Also, if the time is recorded as:
IN A.M. OUT LUNCH IN LUNCH OUT P.M. TOTAL
9:10 1:00 1:50 5:00
