cached exchange mode fix

I have about 100 users on outlook 2003, we have exchange server 2000. Most
clients are using cached exchange mode. Over the past few weeks I get calls
that they cannot receive emails, they can send them tho. After reinstalling
outlook and creating new files it still does the same thing. I turn off
cached exchange mode and everything works again. This is my 7th user and the
same fix always works. Any ideas? Maybe an update? Thanks,

Sounds like their ost-file got corrupted. When it occurs again rename it to
..old and have Outlook resynch.

Thanks for the help, I just received an email with someone with the same
problem, I tried your fix, renamed the file to .old and when I restarted the
email client it set up and downloaded all the emails, we received one
additional email. Once I turned off cached exchange mode, an inflow of emails
came rolling in, about 20 or so and were now up to date. This morning another
employee with the same issue, I turned off cached exchange mode and poof, all
the emails came to the inbox. Not sure what the problem is but cached
exchange mode seems to be breaking things, maybe an update or something?

"maybe an update or something"
That depends on your current patch level. Make sure all are installed.

What are the message box sizes?
Additionally check the error logs on the Exchange server. It could very well
be that you'll have to do an integrity check on the Exchange databases.

I will look at the logs again today, the email boxes range from 150MB to 8G.
I was thinking the same thing but I have a few that the boxes are under
200MB. Thanks,
