Today I unhooked the cable connection from the ethernet
adapter from a one computer to hook up the modem to
another for a moment. When i did i found i could not go
into command like i normally do and ipconfig /release then
ipconfig /renew. When trying to renew i continually keep
getting, (on both pc's mind you) an error occured while
renewing interface local area connection: unable to
contact your dhpc server. NOw the dhpc is enabled so i am
currently confused on what i need to do to get at leaset
one of these pc's back online. Please help. Thanks.

I am curious as to why you had to release and then renew your IP.
