C drive troubble

Hi. This is the problem. Cannot access the c drive, start files corrupted.
The W. XP installation disk will not allow me to repair the original
installation. Have formatted another drive, and can see the files on the
original drive.
Which files should i look for to retreve to save all Outlook Express files,
eg. all messages, to cd-r.
Have to reformat original drive, so need the messages kept safe if possible.
Can anybody help please.

Using Outlook Express you could try importing. Select File, Import,
Messages etc.
