button to run macro

Dave

I am trying to have a button on my work sheet start a macro I recorded... I
followed these directions in the help menu
1.. Click the button or graphic control so that sizing handles appear.
2.. With the graphic object selected, right-click a sizing handle of the
button or graphic object to display the shortcut menu.
3.. On the shortcut menu, click Assign Macro.
However, "assign Macro" is not among the choices in the shortcut menu.... I
Have my security levels set to low, but can't seem to find the command
needed.
any help would be appreciated.

For the same thing, it will give you more options (formatting etc), the
forms toolbar although being quite useful
is there for compatibility to pre excel 97 versions. To use the one from the
control toolbox you can right click and view code, then put the code there.
It's more useful but if you record a macro and want to use a button it is
probably easier using the forms toolbar

thankyou very nuch....
one mor question... my macro that i have recorded is one that uses
Data,Filter,Auto filter... it works fine when you click the button.
I have created another button that I want to run a macro that does Data,
filter, auto filter ..... so that I may uncheck the auto filter box and
return to the complete worksheet, however the auto filter box is greyed out.
any ideas there?
thanks again

If you go to View / Toolbars / Customize and select the Data options, there
is an autofilter button on there - and also a Show All button. Would these
make life easier?
The autofilter button actually switches autofilter on and filters it to the
selection in the active cell.
