Windows Vista Business Contact Manager 2003 and Vista, problem connecting to database engine

I have Vista and have installed Office Small Business Edition 2003 with Business Contact Manager. The problem is when I installed BCM, I get the following message,"There was a problem connecting to the database engine.
I therefore can not access BCM.
Does anyone have a work around or solution?
