business contact database setup

I installed office 2003 with outlook. Then istalled (seperate CD) business
contact manager. After installing some lengthy updates from MS the setup
wizard will not setup. It asks whether I would like to create a new database
or find one on another computer. I select create new and it tries, then says
datbase creation failed. I just want my contacts in outlook migrated to
business contact.

You need create a BCM database before you can move your Outlook
Contacts to BCM.

I'd suggest first searching this newsgroup for other user's database
creation problems and how they got resolved. Usually this requires
diagnosing what's wrong first.

That CD has an old version of BCM. I linked on my site to the new version
download pages. We are now up to BCM V2 SP3.

We finally figured out how to get the SQL Server restarted. What a pain!!
Isn't there some toggle so it quits shutting off? Also, even after we get
the SQL Server re-started, it refused to find the database. The Business
Tools menu is gone so we can't Restore the database. What can we do to
prevent this problem from re-occurring and how do we fix it? Thank you!
Spent weeks now going back & forth and still can not get the software to
keep running.
