Everytime i try to burn a cd, the last 4 or 5 songs do
not burn they error and the message either says "windows
media player has encountered an unknown error with your
recordable disk" or "windows media player cannot copy the
files because there is not enough free disk space to
store the temporary files" and i've defraged my hard
drive and did a disk clean up

I've had a similar problem, although now my program
decides to stop burning all together and completely shut
down and then all I've got is a half burned and
completely ruined cd. I dont think it's just the program
(Roxio CD Creator 5 Basic) because i've tried using my
burner program from RealPlayerOne and that didnt work
either.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Yep, get a new burner or at least try a friends in the place of your own.
That should confirm whether or not your's is over the hills and far away
gone.

Try use Nero software or you can do a updates from microsoft.com updates

It should be under Windows XP, and click ADD where the download said updates
if you have problem with CD Burning.

This works for my XP Home edition.
